The true test of success comes when you run up against challenges. I see times of testing as opportunities. I am reminded of the words of the great Henry Ford: “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.”
As a relentless pursuer of growth, my love for supporting comprehensive positive youth development to prevent violence and foster healthy transitions into adulthood stems from my bigger purpose to change things for the better. For me, problems are opportunities – I step toward them. Like most Instructional Coach, I thrive under intense pressure and challenge. Instructional Coaching is in my DNA.
In my efforts to constantly push boundaries, innovate and provide a safe and empowering environment where the youth and young adults can realize their full potential; combined with 15+ years of engagement improving training and operational performance through vision, educational leadership, training, consulting, and team building, Sterling Enrichment Center and Sterling First Aid CPR were born.
From 2009-2017, I ran my own child care center and served as an instructor for over 10 years. During this period, I also provided one on one mentoring and tutoring for children of all ages.
This was one of the most pivotal points in my life because it taught me how to connect with students on a deeper level and provide the most effective training possible.
Being an educator has been one of my biggest accomplishments and a title that I hold to the highest standards. There’s no greater feeling than watching a student you trained learn life-long skills that will stick with them forever. I’m excited to continue working with our youth to develop our next generation of leaders.
